Projects

Welcome to the Projects Page. Since New Zealand is so incredibly boring, I have taken up some projects to pass the time.

Project 1) Skateboard
After a week at Uni, I quickly discovered that I needed another mode of transportation other than my feet. A couple times a week, I have back to back classes on either end of campus, which is about a 15 minute walk. Considering I only had 10 minutes to get to class, I was in need of a brilliant solution. One day while rummaging through an amazing place called the Eco Shop (Aka Hoarder Heaven), I found two wicked cheap boards. I liked the deck and trucks on one, but the hardware was all rusted, so I got the other for its nuts and bolts and spare parts. I did a little switcharoo, borrowed some grease from a friend and BAM, brand new old skateboard. I looked like a complete fool for about a week, but it was fairly easy to pick up considering I've snowboarded in the past. I even sold the board I didn't want for a profit, so I'm pretty much an Investment Tycoon.

Switcharoo

All greased and tighten up, and rides beautifully

Project 2) Bike
So my flatmate had this random bike sitting around in our apartment that he brought home one night from who knows where. He doesn't even remember. The front wheel was wicked wobbly, the chain system was screwed up, and the tires were flat. Eventually, I got tired of looking at it and not riding it, so I took it apart and cleaned it up. This morning, I went down to a local bike shop and got new bearings for the wheels, and after a couple hours of fiddling, got the bike back together and the chain system running smoothly.

All that I have left to do is beg, borrow, and steal a bike pump, and maybe give it a paint job. Then it is up for sale.

That's all the projects I have running for now.
Check back later for more,
Luke
